Colors of the Wind

I want to make it a point to not make this blog exclusively about Fashion because not only am I inspired by Fashion, I am also inspired by words spoken by great thinkers & other Randomness and it would be selfish of me not to share such inspirations with so here's something taken from Vanessa William's 'Colors of the Wind'

"You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew, you never knew" <---this definitely holds true to just about anyone. OPEN your minds and Judge LESS ;)

I thought it would be fun to mix two extremely bright colors together namely the Yellow & the Blue but I didn't want to look like a clown so I balanced out the brights with the black and I think it works very well. So here's some fashion advice, when putting your outfits together, limit yourself to 3 different colors the MAX or else you stand the chance of a disaster. If you have brights paired together, be sure to tone it down by throwing in something neutral and you'll be good to go ;)

Black NEVER Disappoints!

When all else fails, wear something BLACK and you will look as Chic as ever. I strongly believe that black complements just about any body type, any skin tone, and any style. It's just such a rich color or 'shade' in my opinion. I wore an over sized blazer to balance out the the shortness and tightness of my black dress which is always a good idea if you don't want to look borderline slutty...<-- excuse the language, but I hope you get my drift ;)

A Little too High-Waisted

I'm a firm believer in breaking rules, especially when it comes to Style. When you look at the pieces in your wardrobe, diversity is KEY! you should be able to see that little black dress transformed into a little black top worn with a body-con skirt or even tailored high waisted pants. You should even see a flowy skirt worn as a top paired with jeans or even some shorts finished with a thin waist belt. So don't limit yourself to wearing pieces in your wardrobe the way they were "meant" to be worn, GET A LITTLE CREATIVE!
