On Him:

On Her:

Do you, Gems, remember when chunky “dad” sneakers became a big trend after Balenciagas came out in 2017? I never saw myself jumping on the bandwagon but the trend is still going strong in 2020 and now I am singing a different tune. My first foray into the dad sneaker territory was at the end of 2018 when I picked up a pair of white sneakers with champagne gold soles from Topshop. I loved those sneakers and even ended up buying a second pair once I destroyed my first one from wearing them so much.

Chunky sneakers are the perfect footwear going into the spring. They are generally comfy, stylish in their own way and are perfect for wandering around spring streets. And as more brands are embracing this trend, we are getting more variety in styles with pastel hues, classic all-white or all-black looks, separated soles, suede and mesh materials, all being incorporated into new designs. There are also more price points for everyone’s wallet from Adidas and Filas that you can get under $100 to aforementioned Balenciagas that go for as much as a new iPhone.
