Nothing feels quite as effortless as the classic slip dress. Its timeless simplicity makes it my go-to whenever I feel like I either have nothing to wear or just want to slip into something easy and chic.  It’s always been a reliable option for me.

With slip dresses, there are so many colorways, prints, lengths,  fabrics, and styles to choose from. I would generally go for a simple silk/satin option in a jewel-toned color but I have completely fallen in love with the idea of going full maximalist after wearing this Baroque printed dress from Miaou. I’m loving bold florals, geometric prints, paisley prints, animal prints, and other subtle prints.

It’s an effortless statement piece that can carry you from day to night and from casual affairs to more formal events like a summer wedding. Dress it down with chunky sandals or your favorite pair of sneakers or opt for a more elevated look with see-through mules/pumps or strappy sandals. Finish the look with your preferred accessories and add a waist chain to make an even bigger statement. 

For materials looks for satin, silk, or anything that slips right on with a bit of stretch to it. Loose enough to move on the dance floor and hug you in all the right places.
